A lifelong runner, Brien has been coaching since 2012. In that time, he's worked with hundreds of runners ranging from beginners simply looking to complete their first 5k to local runners dreaming of marathon PRs to national class runners aiming to compete at the highest levels of our sport. He eagerly welcomes all ages and abilities, finding joy both in introducing the sport to newbies, refining it for the speedsters and veterans, and assisting everyone in between.
His goal in coaching is to connect with his athletes as people and work closely with them to identify the best ways for each person to train based on their individual strengths, life schedules, and training setups. He holds a Master's Degree in Coaching and Exercise Science from Concordia University Irvine and has coached at the middle, high school, college, and post-collegiate levels. He is now specializing in adult runners.
In short, if you've ever hoped to improve, whether it's a few seconds in a 5k, finally hitting that Boston qualifier, or any other running goal, he'd love to hear from you!
